About Nebraska propane prices
Nebraska's propane year is set by the corn crop as much as by the thermometer. Dryers run through October and November, and home heating demand sits in the rural counties outside the gas systems in Omaha and Lincoln. Supply reaches the state by pipeline from the Gulf Coast and from the Conway hub in Kansas, plus gas processing along the eastern edge.
EIA builds this number by calling retail dealers in Nebraska each week of the October to March heating season and averaging what they report, published Wednesday afternoon. The survey stops for the summer and picks back up in October. The second line on the chart is the wholesale price Nebraska dealers pay at the rack.
